Have you ever gotten somewhat excited about something like getting to go on a bike ride so you can have some alone time only to find out, after you've made arrangements with your hus for the kids, and changed your clothes, and folded down all the seats in the van so your bike will fit, and then cleaned out the van because once you've folded down the seats you can see just how nasty the back of the van is, that the bike pump you have, the only one you have, no longer pumps air into your tires, but sucks it out? And so now, you have one VERY flat bike tire, making it impossible for you to go on your much needed bike ride and making all your efforts go to waist. So then, angered by the disappointment you jump in your husband's sporty little non-van and take off to Wal-Mart to get a new pump (not because there will even be enough daylight left for you to ride after you get back, but just because you still need that little bit of alone time and you are in no mood to be around the kids or even the hus....and yes, Paul, maybe because your time of the month is fast arriving) and you find yourself driving well over the speed limit because you are mad and because you just like to drive fast when not in the van or not listening to Disney music and then you find a cop hot on your tail, OUT OF NO WHERE! So then, blinded by your fury, you not only don't stop, but you hit the gas and before you know it you are in your very first high speed cop chase! And then as the needle edges toward 110 and you notice that there are now 2 cop cars in hot pursuit and you begin to think of slowing, Edward Cullen suddenly appears in the seat next to you, seemingly out of thin air and tells you not to stop because those are not cops behind you but in fact evil vampires and he is here to save you.....and.....
ok, ok, I made up that last part. and the middle part about being in a high speed chase. But the part about me being mad about not being able to ride my bike is true.
p.s. I just finished rereading Eclipse (3rd book in the Twilight Saga) in preparation for the movie coming out, hence Edward making it into my high speed chase fantasy.
